14U Ties for 2nd Place at NSA States
Bad Weather Ends NSA States Early
The 14U started off the NSA States in East Lansing strong winning their first 3 games on Friday versus the Michigan Warriors, Lady Lightning, and St. Vengeance Black. Down 3-0 in the first inning in against the Vengeance, they slowly battled back to tie the game 3-3. A 3-run inning in the 6th ensured the victory in a very exciting and well played game.
The first game on Saturday versus the Portage Hurricanes Black ended in a tough 2-0 loss, which would be their only loss of the tournament. They bounced back in the next game winning easily versus the SCS Vipers. In the first game on what would prove to be known as "Stormy Sunday", the ladies won a tight game 1-0 versus the Michigan Blast through multiple rain/lightning delays.
In the semi-finals in a rematch versus the Hurricanes, the game was eventually called in the early innings due to the severe weather. The coaches and tournament director decided both teams earned a tie for second place.
